Early Morning Preparation
My day at Riley Heating & Cooling typically starts before sunrise. As I arrive at our service headquarters at 6:30 AM, the first order of business is reviewing the day’s installation and maintenance schedule. With coffee in hand, I check my service van’s inventory to ensure I have all necessary parts and tools for the day ahead.
Morning Service Calls
Today’s schedule includes:
• Furnace replacement consultation
• Two routine maintenance checks
• Heater installation for a new client
The morning begins with a thorough inspection of an aging heating system. These consultations are crucial because they help homeowners make informed decisions about their comfort systems.
Afternoon Projects
After lunch, I focus on the main project of the day – a complete heater installation. This process requires:
• Removing the old unit
• Preparing the installation space
• Installing new ductwork connections
• Setting up the new system
• Testing all components
Quality Assurance
Before wrapping up each job, we perform comprehensive testing to ensure everything meets Riley Heating & Cooling’s high standards. Customer satisfaction is our priority, so we take time to explain system operation and maintenance requirements to homeowners.
End of Day
The workday usually ends around 5:00 PM with paperwork completion and preparation for tomorrow’s schedule. Being part of a team that helps keep homes comfortable through all seasons makes every busy day worthwhile.
Additional Responsibilities
Throughout the day, we also:
• Document all service activities
• Maintain communication with dispatch
• Answer emergency service calls when needed
• Keep up with industry regulations and safety protocols
Working in residential comfort systems requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer service – all core values at Riley Heating & Cooling.
